The opera is based on the novel by Stefan Hertmans. The opera gets an extra dimension by working with a mixed city choir. So you can join us on stage. Young, old, Belgian or other roots: everyone from the age of 16 can sign up to sing along. To make this dream come true, Opera Ballet Flanders collaborates with Kunstlab Madam Fortuna and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oudebadhuis.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Het Oude Badhuis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/operaballet.be\/nl\/het-huis\/blog\/boek-wordt-opera-stefan-hertmans-succesroman-wordt-the-convert\" target=\"_blank\">More information about this opera<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do you sing along with the city choir?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Would you like to sing in our city choir in this new opera? Everyone aged 16 and over is welcome. Your background doesn't matter. We start in September and rehearse weekly. No experience is necessary, but your commitment to attend every week is necessary. The premiere of the opera is scheduled for May 2022. The city choir will have 40 people, from all backgrounds. These three partners are the clients for the composition.
