On February 14th, the performance BROOS moved the audience at the BIJOU Festival in the Arenberg. This poignant narrative about the impact of sexual abuse not only managed to touch hearts but was also awarded as one of the three best performances of the festival.
Hannah Macpherson impressively brought the internal struggle between denial and confrontation to life. Using poetry, metaphors, and even humour, BROOS made a heavy theme accessible and universal. The performance opened the conversation about sexual abuse and underscored the power of courage and recovery.
The jury and the audience acknowledged the impact of BROOS, securing the performance a well-deserved spot in the festival's top three.
