Sustainable organization
Since its inception in 2009, Luk Nys has been the artistic pioneer of Madam Fortuna. While the organization received project-based support at the start, this has been structural since 2015. Madam Fortuna evolved sustainably:
- from an urban project to a sustainable dialogue with the city
- from working with the Roma community to intercultural music
- talent development as a breeding ground for a diverse artistic team
- young talent as a driving force for innovation
- from a project-based to a structural volunteer policy
- from project-based operation to a structurally recognized organization
From Antwerp to Spain
Our city projects, in close collaboration with various districts, are no longer unknown to Antwerp residents. MF is firmly anchored in its neighborhood and city. Sustainable collaborations with partners from Ghent and Waasland are also gaining ground in other regions. There is also a strong bond with many artists from different cultures. We work sustainably with partners from Macedonia (Skopje) and Spain (Barcelona). Madam Fortuna achieved more than 40 projects and around 50,000 spectators in her first 13 years.
