The protection of your personal data is of the utmost importance to Madam Fortuna vzw. In this privacy statement we describe what measures are taken to guarantee the protection of your personal data in accordance with Belgian privacy legislation and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). With this explanation we wish to clearly inform you about how we take care of your data within our organization.
Madam Fortuna can always adjust its privacy statement. We will announce this change on our website. The last change happened on October 1, 2020.
2. Privacy statement
This “Privacy Statement” regulates the processing of your personal data by the controller:

Read the Privacy Statement carefully, as it contains essential information about how your personal data is processed and which cookies are used. By providing your personal data on our website www.madamfortuna.be, you declare that you have taken note of this Privacy Statement and you also expressly agree to it, as well as to the processing of the data itself.
This privacy statement applies to all our current and past visitors and users and applies to all pages of the website www.madamfortuna.be. However, this privacy statement does not apply to pages of third-party websites that could be referred to or from which the websites are referred to and to which a different privacy statement may apply.
Article 1 – Personal data
2.1. Personal data that you provide to us:
- Category 1: without registration: a large part of the information on the website is available without visitors having to provide personal data.
- Category 2: to receive our newsletter, we ask you to register as a user and provide personal information: name, organization if applicable, and email address;
- Category 3: To participate in certain activities, we ask you to register as a user via a web form and to provide personal information: including email address, first name, last name, organization company name if applicable, telephone number, etc.

Article 2 – Purposes of processing
2.1. General purposes
Madam Fortuna will only use the personal data collected from you for the following purposes:
- Category 1: maintaining and improving our website and including personal data in anonymous statistics, from which the identity of specific persons or companies cannot be determined, with the legal basis for Madam Fortuna's legitimate interest in continuously improving its websites and services;
- Category 2: sending direct marketing, newsletters, invitations, promotions and promotions, with your explicit prior consent as the legal basis;
- Category 3: managing your registration for an activity, with the legal basis for the performance of a service you have requested, and also sending sporadic messages about aspects that are important to you as a participant in the activity (practical information, payment, etc.);
- Category 4: The purposes of the cookies are described in article 8 of this privacy statement, with your explicit prior consent as the legal basis;
You are not obliged to disclose your personal data, but the provision of certain services becomes impossible if processing is refused.
2.2. Direct marketing
The personal data can also be used for direct marketing, provided you have given additional explicit permission for this (“opt-in”).
If you are already included in our mailing list for receiving marketing material in paper and/or electronic form, Madam Fortuna may use your data to send marketing and other material relating to Madam Fortuna, its products and/or services. Madam Fortuna may use the information you provide to update documents kept by Madam Fortuna.
You can withdraw this consent at any time, without justification and free of charge, for example by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided for this purpose at the bottom of each newsletter, at the bottom of each promotional e-mail message, or by sending an e-mail with a request to this effect to info@madamfortuna.be .
2.3. Provision of personal data to third parties – processors
Madam Fortuna is under no circumstances liable for the use that third parties make of the personal data of the visitor/user. For example, the website may contain links to third-party websites or advertising messages from third-party advertisers through which personal data is collected. This collection and processing of data is not the responsibility of Madam Fortuna, but the responsibility of the relevant advertiser or manager of the website in question to which the visitor/user goes.
Madam Fortuna will not sell, rent, exchange, distribute or otherwise make your personal data commercially available to third parties. We may provide the information you provide to us to third parties if this is necessary for the implementation of the purposes described above.
For example, we use a third party (external service provider) for:
- Storing and processing data in the Cloud (via a Cloud Service Provider)
- Taking care of the internet environment (web hosting, mail hosting, ..);
- Providing IT infrastructure (including server, ...);
- Taking care of the (financial) administration and social secretariat;
- Providing (and distributing) newsletters and invitations (Mailchimp).
We naturally make the necessary agreements with external service providers (processors) to ensure the security of your personal data.
2.4. Legal requirements
In rare cases, Madam Fortuna may have to disclose your personal data pursuant to a court order or to comply with other mandatory laws or regulations. Madam Fortuna will make reasonable efforts to inform you in advance, unless this is subject to legal restrictions.
Article 3 – Duration of processing
Madam Fortuna will store the above-mentioned data for the period that the profile or messages of the visitor/user are visible thereon until 3 months after deletion of the profile by the visitor/user, which is possible at any time.
The personal data are stored and processed by us for a period that is necessary in accordance with the purposes of the processing and in accordance with the contractual relationship between Madam Fortuna and yourself. For example, we do not store your data for longer than 2 years after you last requested our services or last use or termination of the collaboration, except for data for accounting purposes (7 years).
Article 4 – Your rights
You have the right to inspect and copy the personal data relating to you.
You have the right to correction and addition if your data is incorrect or incomplete.
You have the right to erasure (deletion) of the personal data that we have received from you and that are no longer strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were processed. We reserve the right to determine whether your request is justified.
You have the right to restrict data processing: if you object to the processing of certain data, you can request that this processing be stopped.
You can also object to the way in which certain of your personal data is processed. For example, you have the right to object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes (via unsubscribe options in emails). You also have the right to have us transfer the data you provide to yourself or directly to another party on your behalf.
You can contact us at the address at the top of this privacy statement to exercise your rights, accompanied by a motivation for your question.
We may ask you to identify yourself before we can respond to the aforementioned requests. To check your identity, we ask you to add a copy of the front of your identity card to your application. We strongly recommend that you make your passport photo invisible and state that it is a copy.
Finally, no category of persons is subject to any form of automated decision-making or profiling.
Article 5 – Security and Confidentiality
5.1. We have developed security measures that are adapted at a technical and organizational level to prevent the destruction, loss, falsification, modification, unauthorized access or notification to third parties of personal data collected in error, as well as any other unauthorized processing of this information.
5.2. Under no circumstances can Madam Fortuna be held liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from incorrect or unlawful use of the personal data by a third party.
5.3. You must comply with the security regulations at all times, including by preventing any unauthorized access to your login details. You are therefore solely responsible for the use made from the website of your computer, IP address and your identification data, as well as for their confidentiality.
Article 6 – Access by third parties
6.1. In order to process your personal data, we grant access to your personal data to our employees.
6.2. We guarantee a similar level of protection by making contractual obligations enforceable on these employees and appointees, which are similar to this Privacy Statement.
Article 7 – Complaints
If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data or about the exercise of your rights, we ask you to contact us directly. You always have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection:
