Metropolis: Festival kick off in de Kunsthumaniora!
Young and ready to rack your brain over art & technology in the city of tomorrow? Get ready for the launch of Metropolis. A festival where you shape your vision of the future. Metropolis (1927) is the mother of all science fiction films: in it, creator Fritz Lang gives a preview of the year 2026. Now, one hundred years later, in a world where technology is developing at top speed, young people reflect on their own future: what do I want with technology? What does technology want with me? What influence does this have on our city? And how do we translate this into art?
Metropolis is a festival of and by young people. How do they envision the future of the man and the machine in about 100 years? Expect a festival featuring podcasts, theatre, music, workshops, music theatre, debate, film, exhibitions, a catwalk, spoken word, and dance. Come and get a taste of the various ongoing projects at de Kunsthumaniora on September 20th. Meet 'the 7 of Antwerp 'seven young people who will curate and shape the festival.
Madam Fortuna, hetpaleis, Tutti Fratelli, Arenberg, Muziektheater Transparant, KASK Antwerpen, de Kunsthumaniora, De Studio, Bl!ndman, and DE SINGEL.
