The red front door of Madam Fortuna is invitingly open as always. The patio, dry in between the rain of the week, invites you to come in further.
The first Urban Spring Session in Madam Fortuna, with the Jazzstudio, brought a beautiful evening with young jazz talent and cozy get-togethers.
Manon Scuttenaire is the first to enter the stage. We immediately get into the mood with her beautiful voice and strong musical accompaniment. The audience is clearly enjoying themselves. Feet and heads move softly and amiably to the sounds of the music of the live band that accompanies Scuttenaire. One of the songs gives off powerful Erykah Baduh vibes. Although this does not do justice to the versatility of the voice and songs that the young jazz singer performs.
‘You don’t understand how it is to be a woman in a world that is ruled by man’, Scuttenaire sings in the song Composition. The song hits home. We feel ‘I wanne be free’.
And this is just the beginning of a beautiful cultural evening with the students of the Jazzstudio, who take us into their musical story.

The Urban Spring Sessions will present a series of free live concerts in May and June 2024 with urban music styles such as hip-hop, rap, slam poetry, spoken word, jazz and funk.
On Tuesday 28/05 we are back with a collaboration with Chapp de Mic to see the Antwerp hip hop scene shine on our stage!
Check out the full program here!
This project is possible thanks to the support of the City of Antwerp.
